The ability to choose and curate a self-led scrub ritual in the heat and humidity of our Hammam. Access the Scrub Station by adding on a kit to your bathing.

Under the leafy canopy of Surry Hills, within an old antiques warehouse, lies our second bathhouse. A sprawling maze of mineral pools, saunas, cold plunges, steam, scrubs, treatment rooms and plenty of spaces to listen, rest and connect.
The heart of the bathhouse, our large magnesium-based mineral pools are designed around original centralised columns that rise from the water. Lounge underneath them, explore the dark pools or play some chess on our custom game plinths.
After a warm shower, slip in and let the mineral-rich water soothe tired muscles, ease tension and promote full-body relaxation. Whether you choose to chat gently with others or close your eyes and drift quietly, it’s a relaxing space to drop in and reconnect.
SOS Surry Hills will officially open to the public in early October, with soft launches leading up throughout September.

We are a 10 minute walk from central bus lines and a 15 minute walk from the Light Rail.

There is no designated parking, however there is street parking in Surry Hills and surrounds.
We do recommend if you're driving to consider that looking for a spot might take a bit of time, so please factor this in when planning your travel.
One session is 2 hours. This time includes the time you need in the changing room on your way in and out.
A towel and/or robe (if you haven't hired one), your bathers, some thongs/slides (bare feet are also welcome), a water bottle and something analog if you desire (e.g a book!). All other amenities (soap, shampoo, hair dryer etc.) are available in the facility and we have lockers to store your things at no charge.
We have small menu, complimentary snacks and tea in the Bathhouse.
We look to limit capacity between 60-80 at any one time. If that sounds high, don’t worry it’s a huge bathhouse!
In the bathhouse, we strictly cap group bookings to 8 in any one 2 hour period. This is for the enjoyment of everyone in the space as we have found that groups larger than this impacts the experience of other guests.
If you want to book for more people in the bathhouse, a private event might be the thing for you.
Massages are single bookings and rooms, however you can book appointments at the same time if coming with another.
A private event means you have the whole space for yourself for two hours and we have allocated times during the week for this.

Children must be 12 years of age or over to use the Bathhouse. Any minor (under age of 18) must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
Guardians are required to pay for entry and are responsible for children in their care at all times.

Unfortunately not! We are a bathers-on only.
Downstairs in the Bathhouse, there is a pool hoist, an accessible bathroom, extra circulation space, and provision for a chair in the sauna and steam room.
We have a Nart Shark mobile pool hoist for pool areas. These are to be operated by the guest or companion. There are DDA bathrooms and toilets and elevator access from ground level to basement.
Our hot pools, sauna, change rooms and steam room all accessible. We also have an aquatic wheelchair that is safe to use in the sauna and steam room, as the metal on standard chairs gets very hot. Our massage studio is upstairs and accessible.
The Sense Of Self team are customer service staff, so while they are exceptional at making sure guests have a great experience, they are not trained in manual handling or specialised care and as such they are not equipped to be operating and facilitating movement in and out of the pool.
What our team are able to do is ensure that the above mentioned accessibility equipment is available, serviced, and operational for guests to use with the help of their own qualified companion.

Yes, you can! Companions get free access. If you are confident in navigating the space solo and don't require specific assistance you are more than welcome to come on your own.
Our staff are not manual handlers, so if you are requiring the hoist please bring two carers/companions with you.
